Most app vendors run their apps on their own servers and pipe your data back and forth to them. We think that model is a security review you shouldn't have to do. So we made one decision early and built everything else around it: our apps run natively inside the platform they extend, on that platform's own infrastructure, and your data never leaves it. For our Atlassian apps that means Forge — zero external egress, enforced by the platform itself.

That constraint shapes the portfolio. We build focused apps that do one job properly — progress roll-ups, checklists, dashboard reporting, approvals, estimation — rather than sprawling suites. When a feature would require external infrastructure, we don't ship it.
